Reporting Junk or Phishing mail

When you receive a ‘bad’ email, be that junk/spam or a phishing message please use the options within your email client to report the message. These reports are sent to Microsoft who use these signals to update their email filters to the benefit of all.

  • Please always report junk or phishing emails using the tools within your email client

  • Please do not forward spam message to either the WBS or IDG Helpdesks.

  • Please do feel to forward phishing emails if you believe they are particularly dangerous or unusual. We will then use this information to warn users or to ask IDG to block the messages as appropriate.

How to report a ‘bad’ email in Outlook Web Access

  1. Right click on the message you wish to report

  2. Click Report. Select the appropriate category of Phishing or Junk

How to report in Outlook Classic

  1. Right click the message you wish to report

  2. If you can’t see the ‘Protection’ option you may need to click the three dots … to see more options

  3. Click Report Message

  4. Choose the category of your report (Junk or Phishing)
